    "y knows the origin or history of the Hydra, appearing in some my",
    "thologies as a beast to be slain and others as an entity to be r",
    "evered. What is known is that it has been generations since its ",
    "last appearance, leading many to believe that its death had trul",
    "y come to pass.\n\nAmong the humans of Adania the Hydra is a vile ",
    "creature of destruction, one that plagued their early communitie",
    "s by ravaging the countryside of game and fields. It wasn’t un",
    "til a man named Kestival and his rowdy gang of warriors took the",
    "ir bronze blades and slew the beast that humanity was able to fi",
    "nd safety. Kestival himself was named ‘the Slayer’ and king ",
    "of all humanity. A large tooth, believed to be from one of the h",
    "ydra’s heads, still hangs above the throne of Shatterscale Kee",
    "p. Too bad his children squandered their inheritance fighting on",
    "e another for humanity has never been united since.\n\nTo the elve",
    "s of Adania the Hydra is the physical manifestation of the energ",
    "y and magic of Adania. It is a beast, in some aspect, but also a",
    "n intelligent entity. If the elven account can be believed it is",
    " also a renowned magus, its once feared ability to crack contine",
    "nts being merely a spell that it manifests with its raw connecti",
    "on to the world. It is from the Hydra that the Elves first learn",
    "ed magic, through fearful observation rather than education. The",
    " source of the knowledge of magic and the ability to use magic i",
    "tself though created the first cracks that would cause the schis",
    "m between the elves. The High Elves hold close the ideals of usi",
    "ng magic to improve their lives and the world of Adania through ",
    "careful curation. The Dark Elves, on the other hand, saw magic a",
    "s the ultimate expression of will and having seen the example se",
    "t by the destructive Hydra have taken to using magic for their o",
    "wn ambitions.\n\nGoblins on the other hand are a different story. ",
    "To them the histories are merely a fabrication, a long and fake ",
    "tale describing people that never were and creatures meant to sc",
    "are the others so that the dastardly goblins can operate freely.",
    " What is the Hydra but a legend weaved by some ancient goblin so",
    "othsayer, whispered into the ears of elves, orcs, and humans ali",
    "ke to keep them safe in their forests and cities. The lands betw",
    "een were always Goblin. That is not to say that all goblins beli",
    "eve this. Some have found power in the veneration of the Hydra, ",
    "coming upon gifts that they have never before possessed without ",
    "a wizard’s mind or a sorcerer’s blood. Perhaps there is more",
    " to these stories than fabrication?\n\nThe Orcs once revered the H",
    "ydra in their infancy but were taken by other foul entities, onl",
    "y to break free of them all and serve themselves. Veneration of ",
    "the old ways of the Hydra is seen as aberrant and cowardly. Orcs",
    " are mocked, if not killed, for beliefs in other powers rather t",
    "han the iron chains that link them all together as brothers. The",
    " Cult of the Eye on the other hand believes that the Eye is mere",
    "ly the Eye of the Hydra, watching over them still to this day, g",
    "uiding them as they perform their foul rituals. To them the line",
    " is unbroken, the Eye of the Hydra will rule over Adania once mo",
    "re, the other races just don’t see it yet.\n\nThe Hydric Cult ha",
    "s long dwelled in secret in all societies, appearing here and th",
    "ere to snatch away an inductee before returning him with fresh e",
    "nlightenment and new loyalties. Their goals are mysterious and t",
    "heir methods unknown, those few that even know of their existenc",
    "e do not acknowledge it. They have a power to them that draws in",
    "dividuals from every race or creed, a thirst for knowledge is al",
    "l that is required to join. And loyalty of course.\n\nThe Hydra it",
    "self is a grand, mighty, beast. The progenitor, or guide, of eac",
    "h of the races for each came from one of its five heads. The lin",
    "es of magic do not just flow through it from Adania but all worl",
    "ds beyond. Everything exists within it and without it. Yet for s",
    "ome reason or another it has chosen Adania as its place of rest.",
    " While it was a life giving force, it was also a destructive one",
    ". For generations the world has not felt the touch of the Hydra,",
    " yet the seas have begun to churn and water rises. Islands are p",
    "lunged into the depths and the mountains shake and crumble.\n\nThi",
    "s painting represents only the human perspective: Kestival stand",
    "ing victorious above his slain foe. A hero! Legend! A myth!"
